Expectations vs. Reality (Series)

These works were born out of the weight of the 2020 pandemic and the turbulence that surrounded it. They draw from personal and collective experiences—feelings of being trapped by both the literal isolation of lockdowns and the unspoken expectations placed on women, the cries for justice within the Black Lives Matter movement, the silenced abuse many women endure, and the quiet battles with anxiety and depression. Each portrait reflects the masks we learn to wear—protective facades that conceal our truths while revealing the deeper stories underneath. Through these images, I aim to shed light on those hidden realities and create space for both vulnerability and strength.
